Providing Charts and Publications
to leisure and Marine Companies

Our History

In 1959, two keen amateur Woodbridge yachtsman, Terry Clarke and David Mellonie, decided to turn their hobby into a business venture. They set up Small Craft Deliveries Ltd to sail small boats, yachts and other small craft, mainly to and from nearby east coast ports.

By the mid 1980’s they had delivered over 1500 vessels, from small yachts to ships up to 1,500 tonnes to 56 countries.

Planning and provision of such a comprehensive service lead naturally to growing orders for the supply of navigational equipment, sextants, chronometers, VHF radios, barometers and of course Admiralty charts.

In 1982 this important aspect of the business was eventually formalised when Small Craft Deliveries was appointed as an official Admiralty “A” Chart Agent.

In February 2009, the company merged with Charity and Taylor (Electronic Services) Ltd of Lowestoft, a company supplying and servicing marine electronic equipment including ECDIS.

In 2019 Charity and Taylor were sold but SCD (Lowestoft) Ltd as we are now known continue to supply Admiralty print on demand paper charts, nautical publications, digital charts and e-books from our premises in Great Yarmouth.

Our sister company G COMM provides satellite phones to customers world-wide and also offers GPS and wireless network solutions to the marine trade.
